I’m passionate about creating caring, kind grooming experiences for dogs and cats—and sharing that knowledge through quality, in-depth training for anyone looking to enter the Pet Grooming Industry.
Whether you’re making a career change to do something more purposeful, a dog groomer wanting to expand into cat grooming, or a school leaver eager to start an exciting career with animals, I’m here to support you.
I hold Diplomas in Dog Grooming, Cat Grooming, Adult Tuition, Feline Behaviour and I hold a Master Cat Groomer Certification.
Over the years, I’ve attended many grooming seminars and completed certifications in teeth cleaning, dog walking, pet sitting, and boarding. With a 25-year background in HR, training, people development, and life coaching, I have a deep understanding of both people’s learning styles and animal behaviour.
With nearly a decade in the Pet Industry and a love for developing people, I pride myself on giving aspiring groomers the very best start. From mentoring and business setup support to marketing guidance and ongoing tools through my groomer support group, I help ensure my students gain the confidence and skills to succeed.
My special passion lies in quality cat grooming. With the rise in cat ownership, I want dog groomers to know that cat grooming can be safe, kind, and stress-free—and educate owners that professional grooming doesn’t always need to go through a vet.
I never planned to groom cats myself, but now, with seven cats of my own, expert behaviour and handling techniques, I can confidently help groomers provide compassionate, expert care to their feline clients.

Not only is Jo highly skilled and multitalented within her professional career, she’s also one of the voices behind The Pet Groomer Community Podcast.
This platform allows her to share her expertise, connect with like-minded professionals, and interview inspiring guests from across the grooming industry.
Through honest conversations and real stories, Jo and her friends bring the realities of pet grooming to life—celebrating the highs, exploring the challenges, and shining a light on the passion that drives groomers every day.
At JW Pet Services, students are supported by experienced tutors and specialists who bring practical salon knowledge, kind handling and professional grooming education together.
Alongside Jo Wallace, students may also be supported by experienced tutors and specialists including Sarah Moore and Jacqui Drinkwater.
Whether you are training in dog grooming, cat grooming or specialist feline care, the focus is on supportive, practical learning that helps students grow in confidence.

Sarah Moore’s love for animals started from a very young age, growing up in a family where dogs were part of everyday life.
After more than 25 years working within corporate HR, Sarah decided to follow her passion and retrain in dog grooming. She completed her GNVQ Level 2 before progressing to the iPET Level 3 Diploma in Dog Grooming and Salon Management with Jo Wallace at Tails of Long Sutton.
After volunteering with Tails of Long Sutton and later qualifying as an iPET tutor, Sarah knew she had found the career she truly loved.
Together, Sarah and Jo are now opening Bark & Purr — a warm, friendly and supportive training school where they hope to inspire others to build confidence, skills and a genuine love for working with dogs and cats.
Outside of grooming and teaching, Sarah also loves caring for her 10 alpacas, who bring plenty of fun and personality to everyday life.

Jacqui Drinkwater is the founder of The Kitty Services, a collection of specialist feline-focused businesses built from a lifelong passion — some might say obsession — with cats.
In 2015, Jacqui launched The Kitty Sitter, offering bespoke in-home care for cats so they can receive personalised attention in the comfort and familiarity of their own surroundings.
Having shared her life with animals of all kinds, including cats, dogs, horses, small furries and chickens, Jacqui has developed a deep understanding of animal behaviour, welfare and care.
Grooming has always been an important part of her holistic, welfare-led approach. With the growing demand for professional cat grooming for pedigree and long-haired cats, Jacqui went on to gain a professional qualification and establish The Kitty Spa.
She later expanded her services with The Kitty Shoppe, a carefully curated collection of products she personally uses, trusts and recommends.
Committed to excellence, Jacqui believes education is a lifelong journey. Cats remain at the heart of everything she does, and her mission is to provide the very best holistic, welfare-led care for every feline she meets.

Whether you’re just starting your journey as a new groomer or already established and looking to expand your skills, ongoing learning is what sets truly professional groomers apart.
Grooming is about so much more than making pets look their best—it’s about understanding their needs, keeping them comfortable, and providing safe, positive experiences. As styles, techniques, and tools continue to evolve, so too should our knowledge. Regular training ensures that every groomer, no matter their level, stays up to date with best practices and industry standards.
For dog groomers, this might mean learning new styling techniques, improving handling skills, or adding services such as teeth cleaning. For cat groomers, education has never been more important. With cat ownership on the rise and a growing demand for professional feline grooming, this area of the industry is rapidly developing. Many dog groomers are now expanding into cat grooming, and with the right training and confidence, they can safely and kindly care for cats—dispelling the myths and fears that often surround feline grooming.
Education doesn’t just build skills; it builds confidence. It gives groomers the ability to provide the very best care to every pet, support owners with expert advice, and grow businesses with credibility and professionalism.
At JW Pet Services, training is more than a course—it’s an investment in your future, your business, and the pets you’ll care for.
Education is the key to confidence, and Jo is passionate about helping groomers put their self-development first. Through her tailored grooming courses, she empowers both beginners and experienced professionals to refine their skills, embrace new opportunities, and thrive in a growing industry. Whether you’re looking to start fresh, expand into cat grooming, or simply refine your techniques, Jo’s training is designed to support your self-development every step of the way.
